Today’s topic is about AI and Christians. Does everybody know what AI is?
According to one of the creators of AI, Google cofounder, Larry Page, “the ultimate goal of the race to build artificial intelligence is to create a “digital God.“ This is a silicon based life form that would understand everything in the world… And give you back the exact right thing instantly.”
Is this a new concept? Not hardly. Since Adam and Eve, humans have been trying to create their own gods based on their own wisdom. This was the very temptation that Eve, and then Adam fell for – attempting to become their own gods. So it’s no surprise that their descendants want to do the same thing by creating a God with their viewpoint, that will solve all the problems, and usher in “utopia.”
How many things are wrong with this concept? Can humans create their own God?
Isaiah 55:9 – as the heavens are higher than the Earth, so our my way is higher than your Waze and my thoughts and your thoughts.
Will we ever have utopia this side of Jesus’s return?
John, 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me, you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Is AI any different than the golden calf, the tower of babel, making lots of money, getting lots of degrees?
The makers of AI say they want it to solve all our problems. This is funny. Where do all our problems come from?
Go back to the garden of Eden again. All our problems come from sin. AI can do nothing to solve the problem of sin. Why not? Digital AI is developed and programmed by… ‘you guessed it…’ sinful human beings. So their god will reflect that. You can see it in one simple example. AI is not biblical, it’s “woke“
What is woke? The opposite of the Bible teaching in most cases.
You can see this in one example. Ask AI, “what is abortion?“ It will give you a fairly long scientific answer, but it will not use the word baby. It will use the word fetus.
So then ask AI what is a fetus? And it says this: a fetus is the term used to describe the developing human organism from the ninth week of pregnancy until birth. During this stage, the organs and systems of the body continue to grow and mature, and the fetus becomes more and more recognizable as a human being. In the early stages of development, the fetus is known as an embryo, and it is not until around the ninth week of pregnancy that it is considered a fetus. During this time, a fetus is fully formed, and has distinct features such as fingers and toes.
And what does the Bible say?
Jeremiah 1:5 before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart;
Psalm 139:13-14 for you, created my inmost being; you need me together in my mothers womb. I praise you, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your Works are wonderful, I know that full well.
So, in this one example, you can see that what sounds like a scientific answer is actually sprinkled with woke, non-biblical, concepts. A lot of truth sprinkled with a little bit of lie. Or a little bit of truth, but not the whole truth.
I chose this example because it’s obvious for us to see in this room. But how many things are inserted into AI that we won’t be able to discern? If you hear something over and over and over, you might believe it’s true, even if it goes against what you know is true from the Bible. Kind of scary.
OK fine, that first question about abortion can be a secular question… I guess. Let’s ask a Christian question.
Is Jesus our creator?
Chat, GPT answer – the Christian belief is that, Jesus is not the creator of the world, but rather, Jesus is considered the son of God, and part of the holy trinity, along with God, the father and the Holy Spirit. According to Christian theology, God is the creator of the world, and Jesus is believed to have been sent by God to earth to teach and save humanity…
John 1:3 all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.
So, in summary, AI can only kick out what data inputs it has received. Every single data input it’s ever received, has been provided by a sinful human.
